Fallout 3 is a free roam adventure game in a post nuclear apocalyptic wastelands with many dark-horrific surprises waiting to be explored

Overall Score : 9.6

Gameplay                        10.00

Fallout 3 took place during nuclear aftermath in Washington DC. The year took place in 2277, you are the son of scientist living in Vault 101 with your dad. The story in Fallout 3 is very interesting, deep and mesmerizing from the beginning of the game to the end, ranging from the main quests to optional quests. Each action you take from saving local citizens to destruction of whole town will have consequences that affect not just the world around you, buy also the way you play. Each quest you do in Fallout 3 are deeply entertaining as it is memorable. You will battle with various creepy looking enemies suffered after nuclear strikes such as ghouls, super bulky mutant, and even stray dogs. Fallout 3 stays true to its predecessor, using similar skills, perks and S.P.E.C.I.A.L (Strength Perception Endurance Charisma Intelligence Agility Luck). The highlight of this game is VATS system, it allows you to pausse during combat and pick which limbs you would like to shoot. VATS system allows you to see the bullet travels through the enemy’s limb and explode in a slow-motion way. The result is very satisfying and gory.

You can adjust the difficulty setting during mid game if you find some part of the game too hard or too easy. Fallout 3 is a vast world waiting for you to explore what horrors lies beyond  the nuclear aftermath in Washington D.C

Sound                            9.5

The sound of gunshooting, mini nukes exploding, to ghouls growling feel right in this nuclear holocaust. The sound is clear, crisp, and realistic up to a standard where you feel like you are inside the wasteland of Washington D.C.

Another aspect of the Fallout 3 sound is NPC voice acting. Bethesda had done wonderful job in creating the voice of NPC, every emotion felt during the Nuclear Holocaust sets the mood to the NPC and to the players. Sometimes you may hear someone shouting, angry, or scared. Yet sometimes makes you forget that it was all just a game.

The last aspect lies in the soundtrack, you can tune in to the radio in Fallout 3, such as Galaxy News Radio, and listen to couple of late 1930 music oldies. Instead of making you feel annoyed listening to your grandmothers’ music, you will be addicted to it. We can see that Bethesda carefully select the music that is right for this game.

Graphic                         9.00

The overall environment in Fallout 3 is wonderfully designed that sets the players mood right in the nuclear aftermath, from the dead tree to the huge mountain-like pile of debris.

The design of the enemy, NPC, gun, and the players are perfect in terms of scary looking mutant to the limbless bodies of fallen  raider victims hanging on top of your head.

The only thing that lack in Fallout 3 graphics is the terrain of Washington D.C. It feels like huge glossy floor painted in brown color, which was supposed to be dirt. As the result, the overall environment looked too dead to the players that it drives a bit off from the realism of the Washington D.C nuclear aftermath

Replayability                   10.00

Fallout 3 game makes you want to play more even after you beat the game. You feel like you want to try specializing another perks and S.P.E.C.I.A.L to see what it would be look like if you are stealth as a rogue perk or gunslinging perk.

Fallout 3 creates huge numbers of specialization waiting for you to explore and revisit Washington D.C nuclear holocaust once more. Instead of being good guy from your previous fallout 3 accomplishment, now you want to see how it feels like to be a bad guy or even neutral guy.

Fallout 3 offers so much freedom and so much to explore. This is a game that deserves a high replayability.
