    Napoleon Total War

    Release February 26, 2010

Overview:

Napoleon: Total War is an upcoming turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega. It is the next installment in the Total War series.

Napoleon: Total War will contain 3 separate campaigns, the first two will be story-based upon Napoleon's first two major campaigns; Italian Campaign in 1796 and the Egyptian Campaign in 1798. In these, numerous optional missions will be available to the player, as in the third, "The Mastery of Europe" campaign, which is equivalent to the "Grand Campaign" of previous Total War titles, though the overall goal will still be to conquer a certain number of regions. There will also now be the option for a drop-in multiplayer campaign mode; when playing the campaign in single player, the player may choose to open up your server and allow any real person waiting in the multiplayer lobby to join or oppose them in any particular battle.

Many of Napoleon's major battles such as Austerlitz, Trafalgar, and Waterloo will be available as historical scenarios, separate to the campaign. There has also been promised a unit editor which may add depth to grand campaign management. A new battle physics system has been implemented, so when cannon balls hit the ground, they will leave dents, and so forth.

Factions

Napoleon: Total War includes the following player factions:

* France - Story mode and multi-player campaign
* Ottoman Empire - Egyptian Campaign, multi-player only
* Great Britain - Campaigns of the Coalition and multi-player
* Austria - Campaigns of the Coalition, multi-player, and Italian Campaign
